Northwind Solar is central Wisconsin's most trusted and renewable energy solution provider, specializing in the design and installation of solar electric systems for residential, commercial, agricultural, and governmental customers. All told, the Northwind Solar team collectively brings over 100 years of in-house experience in a wide range of renewable energy activities, including design, installation, assessment, project management, consulting, service, and training.


Northwind Solar is a referral-driven business that offers full turn-key solutions, from system design and installation all the way through system commissioning. All of our work is done in-house by our NABCEP-certified designers, installers, and licensed electricians. So, you don't have to worry about seeking out subcontractors or unexpected expenses. You can count on us to follow through on your project and to complete the job efficiently. And we back up all of our work with an industry-leading 10-year workmanship warranty, ensuring your installation will be free of defects for the next decade!


In 2017, Northwind Solar transitioned into a worker-owned cooperative. This business model strengthens Northwind Solar by empowering its employees and allowing a democratic approach to how Northwind Solar operates. We believe this model benefits not only its employees but also its clients by ensuring that your solar installer is invested in your best interests. Our company currently has a loyal staff of 18 member-owners, which means your system will be designed and installed by the owners of Northwind Solar. Ultimately, it guarantees that we'll go the extra mile to make sure your project is a success!

Northwind Solar is a full-service solar electric system provider specializing in everything you need to make your solar PV installation successful, including site evaluation, system design, incentive application and grant writing, utility interconnection, permitting, installation, and system commissioning. Our installations are led by our NABCEP-certified installers and licensed electricians. Since 2007, we have successfully installed megawatts of small-scale, distributed solar generation.
