How Solar Power Can Benefit Your Business

December 22, 2021

Investing in solar power for your business today is an innovative idea. It can cut energy bills, offer tax benefits, is low in cost, creates an eco-friendly, sustainable environment, and supports your local economy. Commercial solar power companies can help you find the best solar energy solution for your business depending on your needs. According to Energy Sage, solar energy has grown in the last few years and costs have gone down about 70%, making it a suitable time to invest.

Helps Reduce Your Energy Bill

A commercial business can save money by converting to solar energy during the year. Businesses use solar power for electricity, heating, and cooling, and running office equipment. This runs up your energy bill and even converting to solar power partially saves your money because you will not be solely dependent on the commercial power grid. The systems and panels are easy to maintain and built to withstand weather and climate conditions. The panels withstand wind, rain, snow and seldom break. When you cut overhead costs, you will have more money to invest in the growth of your business. Commercial solar power companies serve small, medium, and large businesses.

Offers Benefits On Yearly Taxes

Local, state and federal programs support solar energy for businesses with tax credits and renewable energy credits. The federal government allows you a 26% return on your investment in a solar energy system or panels. The limit goes down to 22% in 2022 and, after that, 10%, yearly, but still guarantees a return on your investment in solar energy. Solar Renewable Energy Credits allow you to use your energy production to help recover some of the cost you paid to install solar energy equipment. The electric company must participate in this program.

Gives Your Business An Eco-friendly Image

Employees and customers will associate your business with sustainable green practices. Using solar energy supports the local community by supporting local commercial solar power companies. Solar energy is energy from the sun that is safe and low cost once installed. It will help with electricity, heating and cooling and running machinery. The panels will remind those that use your business that you care about the environment. It gives you independence from your local commercial power company and provides you with a reliable source of energy when the commercial power grid goes down.

These are reasons you should consider contacting your commercial solar power companies to learn more about how solar energy can benefit your business. Solar energy serves all types of commercial businesses in the community.

Right now, the federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) offers a 30% tax credit to businesses that install solar energy systems. Originally scheduled to continue through 2033, the current Senate version of the bill maintains this 30% rate only through the end of 2025. After that, the credit is set to step down sharply: 18% in 2026, 6% in 2027, and 0% in 2028 and beyond. Don’t Miss the Safe Harbor Window Fortunately, there’s a way to lock in the full 30% credit before it’s reduced. Under the IRS’s "safe harbor" provision, you can preserve the full ITC by beginning physical work on your project or making a minimum 5% down payment by the end of 2025 — even if your system is completed in 2026. This is a powerful opportunity to secure long-term financial benefits while the full federal incentive is still available. Stackable Incentives Make the Financials Even Better Beyond the ITC, there are several additional programs that can dramatically reduce your project’s net cost: 10% Domestic Content Bonus: Earn an extra 10% tax credit for using U.S.-made solar components. Focus on Energy Rebates: A Wisconsin-based program offering upfront cash rebates for solar projects. MACRS Accelerated Depreciation: A federal tax benefit that allows you to recover the cost of your solar system more quickly through tax deductions. Solar Central Wisconsin Grow Solar Group Buy: Group pricing and additional resources that make going solar more affordable for local businesses. When stacked together, these incentives can cover a significant portion of your total investment, all while reducing your energy bills for decades to come. Why Act Now Solar has always been a smart investment, but today’s environment is uniquely favorable.
