Solar Stories: How Whitefeather Organics Added Sunshine to Their Harvest
When Anthony “Tony” and Laura Whitefeather moved onto bare land in 2007, they were building more than a home. As Tony shared, “Our family moved on to the bare land in 2007, since we have built a farm and family here.” Over time, that land became Whitefeather Organics, a place rooted in family, purpose, and connection to the future they wanted to create.
That same mindset is what led them to solar.

For the Whitefeathers, going solar was not just a practical decision. It was an extension of the values that already shaped their life and work. Tony explained, “We believe that our relationship with everything we do is from a place of purpose, community, and the use of sensible technology.” Solar fit naturally into that way of thinking, a choice grounded in stewardship, intention, and the thoughtful use of technology.
Whitefeather Organics first installed solar in 2014 and expanded the system again in 2025, reflecting a long-term investment in both the farm and the family’s future.
When asked what benefits they have noticed, Tony’s answer was simple and meaningful: “Yes, a sense of well-being and financial stability.” That combination speaks to the value of solar not only as a financial decision, but as something that can bring greater peace of mind and confidence over time.
Tony described the experience of working with Northwind Solar as “smooth and responsive.” That straightforward trust also showed up in how he described one of the biggest benefits of choosing Northwind: “That they are a thriving, cutting-edge business, if we have problems with our system in the future, they will be there.” For the Whitefeathers, that confidence in long-term support matters just as much as the system itself.
Tony also said he would recommend Northwind to others because of the “quality products and work that they stand behind.” That sense of reliability and accountability helped make solar feel like the right fit for Whitefeather Organics.
Stories like this are a reminder that solar is about more than panels and production. For families like the Whitefeathers, it can be about building something lasting: a farm, a home, and a future shaped by purpose, resilience, and sensible technology.
